Products

A product represents something you sell — a software subscription, a service, or a usage-based offering.

When should I read this?

Read this if you're setting up your product catalog or need to understand how products relate to pricing and subscriptions.

What is a product?

A product in Floatless contains:

  • Name and description — what you're selling
  • Pricing model — how customers are charged
  • Billing interval — monthly, yearly, or custom
  • Status — active or archived

Products vs. Prices

Floatless separates the concept of what you sell (product) from how much it costs (price):

Concept Example
Product "Pro Plan"
Price "$49/month" or "$499/year"

A single product can have multiple prices (e.g., monthly and annual billing).

Product types
