Floatless automatically calculates standard SaaS metrics to help you understand your business performance. Here is how each metric is defined and calculated.

Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR)

The holy grail of SaaS. This represents the predictable revenue you can expect every month.

  • Formula: Sum of (Unit Price × Quantity) for all Active and Trialing subscriptions.
  • Note: One-time invoices and usage overages are excluded from MRR calculations.

Average Revenue Per User (ARPU)

How much the average customer is worth to you per month.

  • Formula: Total MRR / Total Active Subscribers.
  • Analysis: A rising ARPU suggests you are successfully upselling customers to higher tiers.

Churn Rate

The percentage of customers who canceled their subscription in the last 30 days.

  • Formula: (Canceled count in last 30 days / Active count 30 days ago) × 100.
  • Goal: Keep this as close to 0% as possible. High churn indicates product or pricing issues.

Expiring Soon

The number of subscriptions scheduled to renew within the next 7 days.

  • Use Case: Review this list to proactively reach out to customers with failing payment methods before they churn.
